During times like this week when apartment rentals are on demand, expect less concessions from your prospective landlords. The effect is at par with the law of supply and demand for the more people are searching for places to rent, the less the likelihood of owners to give in to requests or concessions by prospect renters. The current increase in demand is also having prices soar to all new highs for the financial crisis the US is experiencing tends to be barring new home buyers from getting new homes. So do expect harder bargaining when negotiating for a rental apartment. But as we say, take your time (unless you really, really need the place) and scout around for better bargains (if there are any).
